The Business Activation Grants program supports the vision of our Arts & Culture Strategy and Creative Port Plan, by encouraging businesses to work with performers and creative practitioners to deliver a critical mass of activity around significant events.

The City of PAE’s Business Activation Grants support local businesses and venues to activate their space, in alignment with select large-scale Council events delivered across the year. Please note that grant funding can exclusively be used to support the delivery of a business activation that occurs on the same day of the Council-run event and that is additional to the business' regular offerings/programming or to scale up its regular offerings/programming.

Grants of up to $1,000 are available to applications that:

  • Activate local places and spaces with creative programming, supporting the development of our region as a destination for arts and culture
  • Demonstrate collaboration between business, arts, community and Council
  • Enable businesses to deliver activities that drive visitation, connect community and showcase the City of PAE
  • Support creative practitioners to deliver arts-based performances or workshops

Examples of activations could include:

  • Live music performance or DJs
  • Pop-up exhibitions
  • Creative workshops or sessions
  • Events
  • Live comedy
  • Markets
  • Footpath activations (relevant permits required)

Please note:

  1. Each round of Business Activation Grants is linked to a specific large-scale Council event - please visit the Grants for Businesses webpage and look for the Business Activation Grant section for more information on what specific events the grant program relates to.
  2. Applicants must complete all sections of this application form and attach relevant documentation to this application to be eligible to be funded.
  3. All grants are subject to availability of funds, eligibility and assessment requirements.
  4. A submission of an online application for the City of Port Adelaide Enfield's grants programs is an acknowledgement that applicants will abide by the conditions of any grant approval.

Assessment

Applications will be assessed by City of PAE staff against the criteria outlined in the Business Activation Grants Guidelines.

The decision of awarding grants will be made by City of PAE staff with appropriate delegations.
